Women of Troy win All-American Invitational

The 4th-ranked West High girls cross country team enjoyed its second big win in three days Saturday, taking home the title
from the All-American Invitational at Luther College in Decorah.
West won with 33 team points, beating No. 3 Cedar Falls by 13.
"We've enjoyed our ranking this last week," said West coach Mike Parker, whose Women of Troy upset No. 1 City on Thursday.
"It was the same thing that helped us - our four and five runners ran exceptionally well."
Claire Hall finished right behind Janet Dobyns (4th) and Julia Frudden (6th) with a seventh-place finish. Kira Spencer, West's
No. 5 runner, came in 13th.
Freshman Sarah Wickman finished third overall with a time of 15:05.
"She was our second runner at our first meet, now she's our number one runner after just three meets," said Parker. "That's
exceptional."
On the boys' side, West finished seventh with 185 points. Des Moines Roosevelt, ranked fourth nationally, won with 35 points.
Mike Clancy led West by placing 11th in 16:41.
