DOBYNS BREAKS SHATTERS 800 RECORD

Jessica Elliott broke the oldest school record on the books as City High's girls track team stormed to victory at the Cedar
Rapids Prairie Relays Tuesday.
The Little Hawks scored 141 points. Cedar Falls was second with 108, followed by Cedar Rapids Prairie with 68. West High was
fourth with 65.
Elliott tossed the shot 41-feet, 10-inches to win the event and break Carrie Schurr's old mark from 1993 by a half inch.
Maya Monitto-Webber won the 100-meter hurdles for City, and Kelly Sherry won the 400 hurdles.
The Little Hawks placed third or better in every relay, winning the 4x800, shuttle hurdle, sprint medley and 4x400 relays.
Lynn Dobyns won the 800 for West in a state-leading time of 2 minutes, 15.33 seconds. Janet Dobyns won the 3,000.
West coach Mike Parker said the Women of Troy were focusing on Monday's district meet.
"We ran most of our top girls in one thing," he said. "We're just really trying to sharpen up."
